Missouri local public health agencies
Missouri has 118 local public health agencies. Where state cottage food law pre-empts local regulation, agencies may not inspect qualifying cottage food production. Once your product or venue falls outside that path, your local agency may regulate retail food establishments under state food code or local ordinances.
Before selling at a farmers market, roadside stand or with a product not on the cottage food list, contact the agency for your county. A separate Food Code non-potentially hazardous stand exemption may apply where local codes allow.
